The two Findon Valley History Group tours FVRA recently organised were both very successful!

The first outing was a Tour of Tarring with Chris Green. It was fully booked with 30 local history enthusiasts attending. We visited various historical sites and Chris was very informative about everything, having an fantastic amount of information on Tarring's history. The picture on the left is of Chris in front of the tree he planted as a sapling in the early 1970s!
The picture below is the History Group at St Andrews Church - a very well attended outing indeed!

The second tour was to Shoreham Fort, 22 attended and it was excellent, everyone enjoyed looking at the historic site with the same listed status at Stone Henge.
Gary Baines who took the tour told us all about the Fort's long history and we were shown everywhere, including inside the last large original Anderson Shelter in the country where we had our picture taken.

We hope to see you at our next History Group, taking place at the Free Church on 29th August, where we'll be hearing from Robert Jeeves from Step Back in Time, presenting the history of Brighton & Hove.
