Donations can be Gift Aided. Raise this idea at AGM. What could be the benefits of being a member of FVRA?

Chairs Report (LT)
· Markets
February market went ahead in spite of doubtful forecast.
There are 2 date changes as some months have 5 Sundays in the month. In order to keep the market to the last Sunday in the month, markets will now be 30th March, not 23rd and 30th November, not 23rd.
No market planned in August LT to approach surgery to hold a joint wellbeing event instead. Dr. Mannings is working on this.
Sharon has sourced gazebos from a Fruit and Veg stall holder, market traders can use these at an extra fee.
PB to source a Mother’s Day activity for March market.

· FVRA Resources
LT stated that the committee needs to compile a list of assets / equipment and resources.
· Action Boxes in Minutes
DE suggested the introduction of Action Boxes into the Minutes so that it is clear what actions/activities need to be completed and by whom. This will allow easier tracking and updating at the next meeting and will make it easier for committee members to see what has been agreed.
· Meeting on Devolution
Steve Rhodes (resident/ committee member elect) attended a public meeting held by AWC in Shoreham regarding Devolution. He reported that under Devolution, AWC and WSCC along with parish councils will no longer exist in the form that they are now. Sussex will be divided into 3 areas. West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove. The three areas will be under control of an elected Mayor, each area being represented by 2 officials. The Mayor will have control over, planning, financial and transport policy. Each area will be composed of around 500 000 residents.
The committee raised concerns over what that meant for our local area, as it might mean Worthing would be under Brighton and Hove. LT, SR and previous Chair Maggie Winter will attend a Panel meeting on Thursday 13th March. Councillors at the AGM will present more information to residents.
Date of next meeting
Tuesday 8th April 7pm FVFC
Please forward any AOB suggestions to chair by Friday 4th April for inclusion in this meeting. To ensure we finish promptly, some issues may be deferred to the next meeting.
