Minutes of last meeting and Matters Arising
No Matters arising from Officers Reports, the Minutes from June meeting were agreed and are to be published on Website and held in the library.
Webmaster’s Report
· SP reported that payments can be taken on website. 75p per transaction goes to WIX.
· WIX annual membership is approximately £55.
· 5K poster posted on website and there have already been some entries.
· Dog show poster also posted on website.
· Holiday Activity Passports will be in booklet form. There will be stickers to collect, activities to complete involving local landmarks and businesses. Aim to be ready by 28th July market, SP to source printing.
· SP to update “Contact us” feature so that it is directed to correct committee member. Goes to LT currently.
· Data request regarding road traffic incidents sent to Sussex Police.
· MW requested more volunteers for working parties needed, could advertise on website.
FV History Project
· TF reported that 24 people attended the latest History Group meeting. Books, maps , postcards and photos were shared.
· At next meeting, film clips, TF is hoping to be able to show film clips of Findon Valley from 1930’s via projector.
· Local archaeologist, James Sainsbury from Worthing Museum has been invited to address next meeting. His fee is £125, so a small donation by attendees will be requested.
· At next meeting, photos and a report of event will be made to put on website.
· Paul Holden from The Worthing Journal is producing a main feature about FVRA in next addition.
· Local resident Jennifer Goddard who has lived in the house that her parents bought off plan, her whole life, has photos, deeds and other documents to share for archives.
· LT sent out email requesting feedback about the event and has had some positive comments.
· LT obtained a pre-1930’s map of original site planning scheme for FV housing from the library. SP to scan and upload to website. A copy has been returned to the library and FVRA will retain original for archives.
Schools Liaison
· School Fair Friday 12th July. PB will collect equipment, gazebos etc. and transport to the Vale School. NW to be back up transport. PB will check for contingency plan if raining and will update volunteers by text.
· Plans for Vale Summer Fair now all in place.
· EcoWarriors met with LT, PB and Ranger Anthony Read where ideas for the Community Allotment were drawn up including designs for Bug Hotels. They enjoyed their picnic, indoors, discussing the wildflowers, they will help produce data for the Rangers.
· A plan for future projects will be drawn up for next year.
· Key for use of toilets at Dog Show organised.
Environment Officer/Friends of Findon Valley Report
· Assisting with planning of Quiet/Woodland Garden at Vale School. Funding is available. This will be a collaborative project between the children, parents and FVRA.
· Working party cleared path from Prince William Close to the cemetery.
· Volunteer sessions; 20/07 footpath clearing meet at Storrington Rise 10am, 25/07 Ragwort Pulling with Emily meet at Storrington Rise 10am, 06/08 Community Garden 2pm.
Membership Report
· Current membership, as at end June, is 370. With 5 New members.
· Total renewals last month was 37.

Chairs Report and Planning the year ahead
· Art Exhibition Saturday 20th July FVFC event runs from 10-4
LT and NW to put up sails to advertise event.
· Dog Show Sunday 21st July 11am to 4pm The Gallops
Dog show posters have gone up around local area and on website. Michael Jones boards advertising event will be put up shortly.
Umbrella Events advertising on social media and are organising layout on field, managing stalls and unlocking gate.
2 extra classes added, Young Handler and Best Puppy.
Local florist donating a prize as well as local businesses sponsoring classes at £20 per class.
Classic cars (approx. 6) to arrive at 10am.
There will be a dog cooling station in a gazebo and under umbrellas as well as paddling pools.
The Vale School toilets will be available to stall holders only. Other toilets available: public toilets at Library; at the BP garage and Coffee Camp.
We have a rota of volunteers to cover the whole day.
· Market 28th July
St Barnabas Charity stall will no longer be attending due to lack of volunteers to man the stall.
Cancer Research UK will have a stall at the July Meeting, using our second gazebo.
Magnet making activity from school fair to be carried on at market.
· Butterfly Walk Emily the Ranger Saturday 3rd August 10am Cissbury
This will be advertised on website.
· Community Orchard Picnic Saturday 10th August 11am to 3pm
Permission has been given for this event, £65 fee field hire and security deposit.
Licence required for Steel Band.
Ice cream van to park on Shepherds Mead or on field if easily accessible.
Attendees will be asked to keep dogs on leads, no BBQs and to take rubbish home.
A “register your interest” to attend facility to be put on website.
· 5K Run Sunday 8th September
Dr. Dylan and other healthcare team will be taking part/ be present. Foxy Ladies will bring a defibrillator.
Entrants to receive QR coded ticket to register. We will need a registration table. Jacobs Steel will sponsor numbers, which will have entrants medical and contact info on reverse. Jacobs Steel are providing countdown markers along the course.
Bag store will be needed, maybe at the surgery.
Jacobs Bagels will attend providing bacon bagels.
Water to be provided by FVRA in cups.
Bunting and flags to be put up.
SP to investigate getting a photographer to attend.
Julia from Foxy Ladies to provide a person to start the race.
· Winery Tour Friday 6th September and Open Garden Visit 23rd August 2pm

· Chalk Farm Visit
Date to be confirmed for later in the year.
· Community Garden
Application for £2000 [Blue Diamond] of funding has been sent off.
· Community Allotment
Decision for Community Infrastructure Levy funding from AWC will be made in August.

TF suggested that FVRA contact Southdowns National Park regarding any planning changes that might occur in the future.
NW has contacted SNP regarding updating FVRA contact details on their website
