About the Event

Welcome to the inaugral Findon Valley 5K Run! A fun jog through the streets of Findon Valley, meandering up into Cissbury Fields, and then downhill for the final stretch. Making glorious use of the Valley's hills and boasting spectacular views all the way down to the sea, the FV5K is the perfect antitode to your average boring flat 5K run. To view the route (and get a few practice runs in!), you can find it on Strava here.

The FV5K Route

Starting in the Lime Tree Surgery Car Park, you'll run along Lime Tree Avenue and across Central Avenue into May Tree Avenue, with - hopefully! - crowds of residents cheering you on.

From there, you'll then double back along Sullington Gardens, before you pop up Central Avenue and then along Long Meadow towards Storrington Car Park.

From Storrington Car Park you'll then be tackling a steep incline up to the base of Cissbury Ring where you'll be rewarded with spectacular views over the Valley.

Then it's all downhill from there, through the fields and back down Coombe Rise before finishing where you started, back at the Lime Tree Surgery.

What to expect on the day

  • Please arrive at Lime Tree Surgery car park by 8.30am to confirm your registration and receive your running number. Safety pins will be provided, and we'll have space for any small bags you bring.
  • There are public toilets adjacent to the Lime Tree Surgery car park, facing Findon Road
  • The 5K will start at 9.00am. Roads will be closed along the route - you will initially be running along the roads before turning up onto Cissbury Fields
  • The ascent up Cissbury Fields is steep! You have been warned...
